Solar Hot Water

The most common types of solar collectors used in solar water heaters are flat plate and evacuated tube collectors.  Evacuated tube solar hot water heating is one of the most efficient and cost effective energy capture systems available today.

REDI Program

The Federal Government's Renewable Energy Deployment Initiative  will supply 25% of the purchase and installation cost of a qualifying solar hot water system, to a maximum of $80,000.

ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat will offer an incentive to industrial, commercial and institutional purchasers of solar heating systems. The incentive will rebate 25 percent of the purchase, installation and certain other costs of qualifying systems.  The ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat program runs from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2011. Incentives are offered to the industrial/commercial/institutional sector to install active energy-efficient solar air and/or water heating systems. Eligible projects must be completed and commissioned within six (6) months of the signing of a contribution agreement with NRCan

Solar Heating will not be enough

Although you may be able to heat water to between 100 and 1200F even during cloudy fall days and to much more during sunny days in even if winter. Both active and passive solar water-heating systems often require more “conventional” water heaters as backups, or the solar systems function as pre-heaters for conventional units.

Tankless, Instant or Demand Hot Water

Demand hot water heaters are fuelled with petroleum products (propane and natural gas).  This product can however save a substantial amount of energy especially when coupled with a solar hot water heater.  Bosch and Takagi tankless hot water heaters provide a very efficient method of heating your hot water.

Pressure Systems

Water pressure system components from deep well  pumps to pressure systems are available in 120V, 12V and 24V.
