Solar World modules and solar panels:

Until 2006 Shell Solar was  involved in the production of silicon solar modules, the most widely applied technology, but has decided to move into the next generation thin-film technologies. As a result Shell sold their Silicon based solar voltaic line to Solar World

All products from raw silicon to large solar systems are produced within the Group. Design
The cells are protected by hardened-glass protective glazing and are embedded in transparent EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl-Acetate). The rear of the module is sealed using a high-quality plastic film. The outstanding stability of the
Sunmodule Plus® is a direct result of the depth at which the glass is inserted in the frame and the full adhesion of the laminate to the frame using silicone sealant.
