In
2004 OutBack offered fully sealed models in both 24 and 48 V, with 500 watts more
power than the original FX series. These are ideal for remote sites, humid areas
or in mobile applications such as boats or RVs. With an all-aluminium chassis,
conformal coated circuit boards and a gasketed design, the inverter is fully
protected from some of the one of the major causes of inverter failure:
corrosion and insects.
The FX
series is designed to survive in environments that would normally destroy other
inverter/chargers. Protection for internal components is provided by our
die-cast aluminium chassis with a powder coated finish to prevent corrosion.
Internal and external cooling fins allow for passive heat transfer, enabling
peak operating efficiencies as high as 93% and looking cool while doing it.
Water and small particles
are kept out through the generous use of gaskets and 0-ring seals on all seams
and openings. A protective conformal coating on all circuit boards provides the
final line of defence against corrosion.
The now standard
externally mounted “TURBO” cooling system improves performance in hot conditions
The
VFX series feature higher output and exceptional dollars per watt value. They have
conformal coated circuit boards, stainless vent screens and a washable foam
filter on the air inlet. These models are ideal for indoor installations.
GVFX series
inverters are designed for grid tie applications.
