Grundfos SQ series 120V well pumps

A submersible deep well pump of 1/3 or 1/2 horsepower with 120 volt motor can pump a 300 foot well and be powered by a 2500 watt or larger inverter

SQ, SQE pumps offer the following features:

The SQ and SQE pump models incorporate a totally new motor design. With the use of permanent-magnet technology within the motor, the SQ/SQE pumps deliver unmatched performance. By combining permanent-magnet motors and Grundfos’ own micro frequency converter, Grundfos are now able to control and communicate with the pump in ways never before possible. A few of the features that come out of this combination are Constant Pressure Control, Soft-Start, and integrated Dry-Run protection.

Grundfos SQ pumps have a soft start electronic control built into the motor. Start up is gentle and extended over 2 seconds, reducing the surge of electricity required to start most other pumps. For deeper wells, the soft start feature reduces start-up wear, twist and strain.

The Grundfos SQ series pumps are able run off of much smaller inverters and generators. Generators should be 2500 watt or larger. Inverters should be 2000 watt or larger, modified sine or full sine wave form makes no difference.

Remember to reduce maximum lift by 92 feet if you are using the pump with a pressure tank to 40 PSI.

Grundfos SQ series pumps do not tolerate sandy water, or excessive grit found in newly drilled wells. Cycle new wells with an impeller or diaphragm pump to wash girt off the well walls. Grit and sand wear damage is not covered by warranty.
